Raft Hill and a Sunny Shower

You know what's nice about a really late night? Taking a shower the next day around 2 in the afternoon and having the sun beaming in bathroom window lighting up the droplets of water and mist. I stayed in there until the water was cold.

So yeah, it was definitely an interesting weekend. Well, at least Friday night was:

3:45pm - Left work for a Dr. appointment in Owosso
6:00pm - Home to change, then off to meet Chris at Sycamore
6:30pm - Chris, Angela, and myself were supposed to go to see this girl playing at the Crazy Wisdon Tea House in Ann Arbor, but Angela is up north and we don't really feel like going to Ann Arbor anymore.
7:45pm - We decide to instead to a show at Magdalena’s
7:50pm - Instead of going to Magdalena’s we decide to have a party at Chris’s house
8:00pm - On the way to Chris’s house, we see Angela on the corner of Michigan and Pennsylvania and call her - she was just at Chris's apt.
8:05pm - we decide that we will instead have the party at my house
8:10pm - We turn onto Chris’s street in Old Town and it’s lined with cars and there is no place in sight to park. There are about 10 – 15 people standing in the entryway to the stairs that lead to Chris’s Apt with lights, cameras, boom microphones... Of course we have to find out what is going on and why they are all there in front of his apt, but there is absolutely no where to park. Finally we go to the next block over, park and hurry down an alley nearly falling on the ice several times. Turns out it was a MSU grad student filming a movie for her degree or something like that. We watched for a while and a few of them came up to Chris’s Apt for a while and hung out for a bit so that was cool.
9:00pm - We hear about a party in East Lansing at the Raft Hill co-op and decide to go there.
9:30pm - As we are leaving, Angela says there is something going on at the MSU union and we decide to stop there before the party. There were two rooms that had various bands, dance teams, a caricaturist, etc.. going on at the same time + a room full of student art and a guy playing the piano.
10:30pm - we finally get to Raft Hill and there is no one there at all – we go to Bower (another co-op) and find out everyone from there just left for Raft Hill so we go back and there are about 25 people there
11:00pm - 2:00am - drank a little, met some new people....
a little after 2 am - Went home, but didn't get to bed until 4 or so

Saturday night, hung out at Leitrim until late, Sunday Food with friends at Leitrim w/ Jeremy, Sam, Abby, Chris, and Ellen. On the menu: very garlicky mashed potatos, focaccia bread, some kind of spicy bean and corn mixture, and strawberrys and mango over biscuts for dessert. Mmm....

Just her personality I guess. We do get along ok and everything, but she doesn’t ummm... intrigue me in that way I guess? There are some girls that just absolutely fascinate me and I've met several recently, and others ... I don’t know... Like I can tell you EVERYTHING about her (especially because she repeats herself over and over) and I learned it all in the first couple months I knew her. There’s never anything new, she doesn’t have a real passion for or interest in much of anything. There's nothing wrong with that, but I want someone who dreams and says "Some day I want to ... ", who does, and on the spur of the monent, calls and says "Hey, lets go and ... " and who wonders and says "Have you ever ... ?? "

Unexpected Incontinence

I was writing an e-mail to a customer, and wrote “sorry for any inconvience”. Outlook underlined inconvience because I spelled it wrong. Usually I just right click on it and take the first spelling suggestion it offers which is usually the right one. This is what I ended up with: “Sorry for any incontinence” I had the pointer over the send button and was scanning the e-mail one last time. Oh, I am SO lucky I caught that before I sent it...

Heftones and Co-Op's

My weekend was definitely interesting to say the least... Sat night a Chris and I went to a variety show at Magdalena’s. There was everything from a bluegrass band, a girl playing a saw, this really weird eccentric couple called the Amazing Heftones that played a ukulele and a Heftone, a bunch of stuff... There was also a contest where 5 people from the audience had to go on stage and try to play different theme songs using kazoos. In the end it was tied, so which ever of those two people could make the other one laugh first using their kazoo won. That was great.
After that we went to a country themed party at one of the MSU co-op's. That was pretty crazy, there was a guy playing an accordion and a girl playing the violin going all around the place and they were incredibly good.. Iin another room there was a guy playing one of those cheap casio keyboards, but he had the back taken off of it so you could see the circuit board and was making it make all these crazy sounds by running his fingers over the different contacts on the circuit board, it was pretty cool and definitely something I’ve never seen or heard before. So yeah, Sat. was quite a strange night, but a lot of fun... Sunday we had the usual food with friends at my house.
